I couldn't find any of the people you were talking about.

Maybe they all used the same generative model to write the comments?

More seriously(?), I thought "cool" is just what everybody writes to show appreciation when they have nothing else to say.

This type of conspiracy-minded thinking is unhealthy.

No, no... Apple is totally cool and private. This is totally not like Recall at all, it's semantic index - and it only goes to the "private cloud" some of the times with your data.

Recall is taking screenshots and performing ocr, stored in what turned out to be clear text. Semantic index is spotlight’s next version, which you already have on your devices. It’s quite different.

Semantic index is doing an even deeper level of integration where clear text is pushed from iMessage, email and more so no need for OCR. Where Apple is worse than MS here is that this data may be pushed to their cloud in addition to local processing (with no clear guidelines on under what conditions that happen or how to stop it from happening).

I thought it was very cool and very close to what I had hoped that they would do. Does that automatically make me into someone from PR? What is the benefits package, in that case? /s
