lol thanks but no thanks

I still love that game - and this is a thing of beauty. Thank you for sharing.

Agreed. I understand they are reticent to allow backups for security reasons - but they're treating their users like idiots by doing this. Some people will have threat models where the ability to retain/export messages is worth the risk this may introduce. Let people make their own decisions.

Reading this all I can think of are the "ractors" in Stephenson's "The Diamond Age" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Diamond_Age).

I'm reading and loving that book.

Of all the technological wonders of the setting, "ractors" are what amazed me the most. It's the perfect interactive experience, a full-time "Wizard of Oz"[0].

Maybe we can see something of the kind in the following year with the advancement of VR thechnology..

The first third or so of the Diamond Age is one of my favorite things I've ever read. It's full of great ideas.

Interesting...where are the docs that explain how to do this mirroring? Can't see anything obvious on the site.

From your profile... click 'Connections to other services'

Yes please!! This is the feature I always find myself wanting. (Using Akregator / Kontact in KDE.) So many stories are duplicated at various stories that the ability to hide all but one where the target URL is the same would save lots of time.

Hey Taki, I've wanted that feature too and we built that into our social news site called The Shared Web (www.thesharedweb.com). The content is pulled from Twitter or posted by other people on the site and aggregated by URL. We'll be looking into pulling directly from sources so you can follow RSS feeds too soon. Would love to know if it works for you.

Looks cool - consider me a new user! Two suggestions for the FAQ: 1. How much space will this use up on my machine? 2. Will this slow my browsing experience?

Thank. We'll add that to FAQ.
